at Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum, Foregate Street, Worcester

One of the UK's finest collections of vintage Star Wars toys and original cinema posters is on display in a free exhibition at Worcester City Art Gallery & Museum throughout the summer holidays.

From 1977 until 1985, an estimated 300 million Star Wars action figures were sold, allowing children to re-enact the adventures of Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo.

‘May The Toys Be With You is both a celebration of the now highly collectable vintage toy line and also of the iconic design work and art of the Star Wars movies’ according to collector Matt Fox. ‘From X-Wing Fighters to lightsabers, these fantastical designs have fired our imaginations and stamped their place on our cultural landscape.’

This touring exhibition has broken visitor attendance records at a host of museums around the country, and this will be its first time in the West Midlands.

Whilst marvelling at the amazing Star Wars collection, visitors can also take their own Star Wars selfie, enjoy hands-on activities in the Millennium Falcon Cockpit and chill in the Death Star reading and soft play area as well as enjoying a number of special school holiday activities (see the list below).

Entry is free.
